A concert night stay at Grey Eagle, step by step

Package, room, dinner timing and the morning after: how to do a show night at the casino hotel without a hitch.

A show at the Event Centre is the most common reason to stay at Grey Eagle, and the resort has built a package around it: the Concert Night Getaway, two tickets to a select show plus an overnight stay in a Standard King or Two Queen room. Which shows qualify changes with the calendar, so name the show when you ask for a room.

Room: the Two Queen if you are four, the Standard King if you are two. Corridors are lively when the hall lets out; a higher floor helps light sleepers.

Dinner: Little Chief takes OpenTable on normal nights but switches to phone and email on concert nights (403-719-8777, littlechief@greyeagle.ca). Book the early seating and finish before doors. If you miss it, the Buffet inside the casino serves until 1 AM.

After the show: the outdoor hot tub and sauna, or the Eagle Bar on the gaming floor if you are 18 or over and want a nightcap. The pool is closed during the casino renovations.

Morning: the fitness centre is open around the clock, parking is free so there is no rush to check out of the lot, and Glenmore Reservoir is ten minutes away for a walk before the drive home.
