Grey Eagle Resort & Casino: the full review

Facts checked against the resort's own pages and AGLC on 22 October 2026; opinions are the editors' own

4.1our score out of 5 for a leisure stay. It would be 4.4 with the pool open. We take no payment from the resort or from booking sites for this score.

Location and ownership

The resort stands on Tsuut'ina Nation land at the corner of 37 Street SW and Glenmore Trail. It is addressed as Calgary and is minutes from downtown, but it sits outside the city's boundaries. The owner and operator is the Tsuut'ina Nation (the resort's footer names Tsuu T'ina Hospitality Ltd.), and the casino is regulated by AGLC, Alberta's gaming regulator. The address the resort uses is 3777 Grey Eagle Drive, Tsuut'ina, Alberta T3E 3X8.

The location gives you free parking in a city where downtown hotels charge for it, and a straight run west toward the mountains. It takes away one thing: there is no CTrain stop. You arrive by car, taxi, rideshare or the resort's shuttle to select locations.

The hotel

One tower, opened in 2014. Travel-trade listings consistently say 178 rooms; the resort's own pages do not print a number. Room types named on the resort's site are the Standard King and the Two Queen; listings also show a Premier King and a King Suite. The Two Queen is the room to request for a concert weekend with friends; the King for a couple.

Rooms are bright, with large windows and pale finishes; evening lighting is warm rather than clinical. Noise from the casino floor was not an issue on our floor. On show nights the corridors are lively around the time the Event Centre lets out, which comes with any venue hotel.

What the resort lists for hotel guests, as of our check: 24-hour fitness centre; outdoor hot tub and sauna; free and secure parking; shuttle to select locations; s'mores kits and firepit service; board games; a gaming room with a PS5, bookable at the Front Desk; business centre with a computer and Wi-Fi; printing of up to five pages; a newspaper in the lobby; meeting, banquet and wedding facilities. Mountain bikes and trail maps for hotel guests appear in the resort's materials as well.

The pool

The resort's hotel page says the swimming pool is currently closed due to casino renovations. Registered guests get complimentary access to Killarney and Glenmore Pools, arranged through the Front Desk. No reopening date was published when we checked.

The casino floor

By the resort's own numbers: 975-plus slot machines, 32 table games, 84,000 square feet of gaming space, separate high-limit rooms and bingo. Slots run 24 hours daily; table games 10 AM to 3 AM; craps opens at 11 AM; Three Card Poker runs 10 AM to 3 AM. The current site lists Ultimate Texas Hold'em and Three Card Poker among the table games and does not advertise a dedicated poker room, so we do not claim one. The floor is 18+, Alberta's casino entry age; government photo ID is checked. Full detail on the casino page.

Eating and drinking

Little Chief is the signature restaurant: modern cooking with Indigenous tradition, happy hour 2 to 5 daily, reservations on OpenTable except on concert nights, when you call the hotel. The Buffet is inside the casino (18+) and changes its feature nightly. Blaze Bar & Grill is closed for renovations; its menu is served at the Stage Bar by day and the Buffet by night. The Eagle Bar sits on the gaming floor; Eagle Street Eats is the food truck; Little Chief Catering handles events. Hours and detail on the dining page.

Entertainment

The Grey Eagle Event Centre is what turns the property into a destination: roughly 2,500 seats theatre-style with an L-Acoustics concert system, and a booking history the resort cites from Burton Cummings and Gordon Lightfoot to Jay Leno, Ice Cube, Lainey Wilson, The Offspring and ZZ Top. The Concert Night Getaway package bundles two tickets to a select show with an overnight stay in a Standard King or Two Queen room. See entertainment and packages.

Service and value

Front Desk service was quick and the October programme of complimentary guest activities is a genuine extra for mid-week stays. Value comes from the location: free parking, no resort fee advertised, and room rates that in our experience sit below comparable downtown rooms on event nights. We do not print nightly prices because they move daily; a room request gets you the current rate for your dates.
